I believe in reincarnation, and I have many memories of past lives with my maternal lineage.
We’re a small family. In this incarnation, the women include just me, my mom, her two sisters, one female cousin, and my deceased grandmother.
I have vague awarenesses of being together many times, often in different relationship to each other. In this lifetime, I’m the daughter. In other lifetimes, I’ve been the mother or the sister.
The clearest memory is of a life in Germany located in a small town somewhere in the Black Forest. Four of us lived together in one house as a mother and her three daughters. We were close knit and happy.
Multiple souls sometimes choose to incarnate together across several lifetimes, forming what is known as a soul pod. These souls agree to play different roles and face new challenges in each lifetime in order for their souls to have a full range of the human experience.
In this current lifetime, I love my mother dearly, and I also struggle with our dynamics, as is the case in many mother-daughter (and father-son) relationships. I can get triggered in one sentence or with even just a look. My mother has been a source of much growth for me in this lifetime – some of it challenging. And because this was a mutual agreement made by our souls, I also realize that I’ve been a source of much growth for her in this lifetime – some of it challenging.
When I’m being triggered, I remember that our souls loved each other enough to agree to this situation – to play these roles and work through issues together for our highest growth and learning. This realization has brought much forgiveness and healing to our relationship.
This work is real, and it matters.
