My fearless younger self remembers the feeling of having my whole life ahead of me. She relished the possibilities. Life was an adventure. It could lead anywhere she chose.
In recent years, it’s seemed like there were fewer possibilities. For the dreams that still remain, I find myself wondering if I have the energy to see them through. And then Spirit keeps bringing what I need – support, resources, inspiration – to take the next step. My older self knows to listen to the nudges of my soul and the opportunities that Spirit presents. They are leading somewhere. They are leading to the rest of my life.
In a moment of insight, I recently realized that no matter our age, we still have our whole life ahead of us. In our 50s. In our 60s or 70s. Even in our 80s, we still have our whole life ahead of us.
Rather than feeling the shortened possibilities, having regrets, or thinking it’s too late, we can choose to embrace life and all the possibilities it offers. In all things, we are guided by our soul and by Spirit. Our whole life lies ahead of us.
This work is real, and it matters.
