Throughout history, many earth-based religions have worshipped the moon, honoring Grandmother Moon for her wisdom and feminine energy.
In modern times, we still recognize the moon cycles. Tides, fishing forecasts, and planting schedules all follow moon cycles.
Where new moons lend helpful energy to the start of a new project, full moons are traditionally the time to recognize the completion of a project or the end of a cycle.
Here is a simple ceremony to honor the full moon and any endings in your life:
· Reflect on what is coming to an end or a close in your life.
· Write about it on a small piece of paper, including an acknowledgement of what you have learned and an expression of gratitude for the experience.
· Create sacred space through whatever means you choose. Include an invitation to Grandmother Moon to join you.
· Follow your inner guidance in saying a few words to honor Grandmother Moon and acknowledge the energetic assistance she is lending today to bringing closure to the endings in your life.
· Burn or bury the piece of paper to release the energy to the Universe.
· Say thank you to Grandmother Moon.
· Close sacred space.
