I chuckle now about how I viewed the healing process when I first consciously stepped onto my spiritual path.
Initially I thought all I had to do was go to an appointment, and presto, healing would happen and I would walk out of the office cured, never to face those issues again.
After my first few shamanic healing sessions, I didn’t do anything in between to integrate or to actively work with the shifts in energy.
My healing really took hold when I understood that it was up to me to actively do my part to shift the limiting agreements, to be present with my pain, and to welcome my new soul pieces home.
Even if someone had counseled me about this in the beginning, I still wouldn’t have understood. This tends to be a lesson that each of us needs to learn for our self.
In the years since becoming a shamanic practitioner, I have said to many clients at the end of their session: “Amazing shifts often occur in a healing session, but the real magic happens when we go home and use that energy to transform our lives.”
Shifting out of being a passive recipient into being an active participant enriches the healing.
This work is real, and it matters.
